Why doTERRA is Part of My Spiritual Business
Let me put it simply: I’ve devoted my career to helping others heal and live happier lives because I know what it’s like to be on the other side of the spectrum.
If you don’t know my story, from my late teens through my early twenties I struggled with very severe depression and an eating disorder. I was so sick and hurting so much that I had really hit rock bottom.
But my journey to healing was not your typical one.
In my case, I had to leave the world of traditional psychology and western medicine and opt into a lot of spiritual and alternative healing methods in order to get better.
The funny part? Years later, when I was firmly in my recovery, I became a therapist myself and went on to work in a very intense behavioral hospital that practiced in the traditional method.
What I came to realize (yet again) is that while Western healing has a time and a place, it is generally not sufficient for true, lasting recovery. And it definitely isn’t enough to help people thrive.
That’s a problem for me, because I believe that recovery and real healing means thriving, not just getting back to baseline and not just reducing symptoms.
And that’s what Ivy Rose Moon is all about.
My work is all about helping women create full, lasting, healing in Mind, Body, & Spirit.
It’s about helping you create a whole lifestyle that supports your mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual wellbeing so that you can feel your best and follow your dreams.
I mean, that really should be the foundation for life, shouldn’t it?
Because when we have all of these cornerstones of health in place, we really are unstoppable.
And when we are in a good, healthy place ourselves, we can then turn towards serving others and making a difference in the world.
I’ve chosen to partner with doTERRA as part of my spiritual work because I believe wholeheartedly in every aspect of their business.
doTERRA’s mission is to “source the best and help the most.”
By partnering with growers around the world to source the highest quality essential oils, doTERRA is able to provide products with unparalleled quality while also giving back and supporting local communities.
The amount of integrity that doTERRA has at every step of the process is just astounding.
From being responsible stewards of the land to caring for the precious plants that provide these oils to ensuring fair and on-time wages to the growers to facilitating community development, it is genuinely so beautiful to see a company care so much about everyone who is involved in the product, not just the consumer.
Not to mention that being in the same room as other doTERRA Wellness Advocates is one of the most positive, uplifting, supportive, and energizing communities you will ever experience.
So how did I get started with doTERRA?
I’ve loved essential oils and health and wellness products from the time I was a child.
Don’t ask me how this happened; I just came into this world with a genuine passion for this field.
As a kid I read books on wellness retreats, spas around the world, and ancient beauty recipes (yes, my parents thought it was weird.)
During my summers off from college I worked in a luxury spa in the mountains (and then spent most of my paycheck on the discounted “backbar” sized products I had access to).
And to this day my dad will still roll his eyes when he remembers the cupboard full of “lotions and potions” I had beneath my sink.
Throughout the years I’ve read the books, done the courses, gone to the seminars, listened to the podcasts, and done my own research to live the healthiest, happiest life I can.
But I first heard about doTERRA sometime in my early to mid-twenties and finally tried the products myself a few years later.
I started with a Home Essentials kit and immediately fell in love.
I loved having access to these little bottles of liquid gold that provided relief and support for so many different parts of my life…
Balance oil first thing for grounding and calming
Lemon in a glass of water to help support detoxification
OnGuard while traveling to keep my immune system strong (at the time I was a consultant traveling to Mexico City at least once a month)
Peppermint and Digestzen tea after dinner to help with fullness and bloating
I used and loved these oils for several years until March of 2020 when I came down with the original form of the virus. I was sick for the next 6 weeks, 4 of those spent with a daily fever of over 101 F.
I also lost my sense of taste and smell (it wasn’t even considered a symptom at the time I got sick) for the next two years, and that’s when I fell off the bandwagon with doTERRA.
In hindsight, I so wish I would’ve stuck with these products, because these oils have properties that go far beyond their aromatic benefits.
I wish I would’ve used OnGuard to help support my immune system, Balance when I had to go back to work on an inpatient psych unit during the height of the pandemic, and oils like Lavender and Lemon and Peppermint to do some scent training.
But suffice it to say, it was a part of my journey to take a break and I returned to doTERRA in the Summer of 2023 when my body and soul were once again recovering from a year of major stress and trauma.
This time, not only did I return to my tried-and-true favorites, but I was introduced to doTERRA’s world-class supplement line.
I’ll be honest: I didn’t think the supplements would be that good, I mean, what could an essential oil company know about supplements, right?
But I was shocked when I tried them for myself and was proven wrong.
Both the supplements and oils became a major part of my physical and emotional recovery, and are now staples in my daily wellness routine.
For me this looks like…
MetaPWR Advantage Collagen for brain fog, improved cognition, clear skin, joint health, and metabolism
Turmeric Capsules for decreasing inflammation
Zendocrine to help detox and reset my system
Serenity Softgels and the Sleep Stick for deeper sleep
Frankincense internally every day for cellular health, a drop in my nighttime skin serum, and every.single.day during my sacred morning practice
Balance for grounding and anxiety
OnGuard for incredible immune support (and helping both my husband and I stay healthy the whole winter season)
Copaiba and Lavender as the best menstrual cramp support (works even better for me than OTC painkillers at relieving terrible cramps)
TerraZyme digestive enzymes that helped me decrease bloating & tolerate foods that used to give me (and my husband) stomach aches
I can’t even begin to describe how much I love and appreciate having all these products at my fingertips to support so many aspects of our health and wellbeing.
Living a doTERRA lifestyle is really about focusing on the building blocks of wellness and being proactive in our health instead of reactive. And this is completely aligned with my own view of holistic, preventative wellness.
The sad truth is that so many people don’t feel as good as they could and when you start to improve little aspects of your health, it’s causes a change that’s like going from black-and-white to living in color.
But while my love for these products rings so strong and so true, I never had any attention of bringing them into my business.
I’ll admit that in the circles I used to run in, network marketing and “hippy shit” like essential oils were very much looked down upon and it left me with a little trepidation about sharing these products at first.
But when something is so impactful and so life-changing the way doTERRA is, it felt wrong not to share.
And when it also provides an opportunity to support (or even replace) your income, it just felt like no-brainer to me to share my passion for these products with other women who want to live the way I do.
My vision is to introduce these products and their benefits to as many women as possible and my goal is to build an amazing team of like-minded women who are committed to holistic living.
So whether you’re new to essential oils and just want to experience the power of these plant allies as a customer or you’re interested in being part of a team of other women who want to create their own holistic wellness businesses, I’d love to be your guide on this journey 💜
It’s a choose-your-own-adventure situation around here and I can’t wait to help you get started!
