5 Underrated doTERRA Products
When you enter into the doTERRA world, there are certain products that you hear about all.the.time and for good reason!
There’s a reason why you see so many people talking about products like MetaPWR Advantage Collagen or the OnGuard blend or TerraZyme, but there are so many hidden gems in the doTERRA product line that don’t get nearly as much air time as they deserve.
So today, I want to share with you 5 absolutely incredible, yet underrated, doTERRA products.
These 5 products also happen to be some of my very favorites—I use all of them every single day!
Let’s get started…
#1: Veggie Caps
There are 3 primary ways to utilize essential oils:
Topically
Aromatically
Internally
That’s right, there are certain doTERRA oils that are pure and safe enough to be consumed internally and there are different ways to do this. You can either add a drop to water, add the oil to food as a flavor enhancer, or you could take it through a veggie cap.
Veggie caps are empty capsules that you can use to make your own customized essential oil “pill.”
They are made of inert vegetable ingredients that do not interfere with digestion and they are free of preservatives, gelatin, wheat, sugar, starch, dairy, and animal products.
All you have to do is open the capsule up, add a drop or two of essential oil, put the capsule back together and you’re done!
This is the perfect way to get in some of those essential oils that might not taste great/taste a little too strong on their own (I’m looking at you, Zendocrine) and they are so easy to make. Seriously, it takes just a few seconds.
One of my favorite things to do is create a super-charged essential oil wellness capsule, where I combine several powerhouse oils and take it in one pill.
My go-to recipe is one drop each of Frankincense, OnGuard, Zendocrine, Copaiba, and MetaPWR. It’s incredible for helping with your daily immune support, anti-inflammatory, detoxification, nervous system soothing, and metabolic needs.
I also love taking two drops of Copaiba in a capsule the first and second day of my menstrual cycle to help with cramping.
Typically the only time I will ever take OTC pain relievers is in the first few days of my period, because I tend to have pretty horrific cramping. However, I was able to stop taking them altogether because for me the Copaiba was actually much more effective.
And the best part? They are only $4.50 USD for 160 capsules! What a bang for your buck for a product that makes it even easier to live a healthy lifestyle.
*Please remember you should only take these with the specific doTERRA oils that are approved for internal consumption. I also would not trust any other essential oil brand to be safe for internal use due to adulteration of other oils on the market. #2: OnGuard Toothpaste
The OnGuard blend is one of doTERRA’s top selling products and for good reason. It is an absolute powerhouse for immunity support and protection.
While I’ve been a big fan of the oil for many years, it was only recently that I started branching out into the other products in the OnGuard line, and wow do I wish I’d done so sooner!
My second most underrated doTERRA product is the OnGuard Toothpaste.
I know what you’re thinking…toothpaste? Really? What could be so special about toothpaste? But hear me out…
First of all, this is the best tasting toothpaste I have ever used.
It has a cinnamony-minty flavor thanks to the classic OnGuard oils of Wild Orange, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Eucalyptus, and Rosemary, but it also contains Peppermint and Wintergreen for an even fresher addition.
No toothpaste has ever left my mouth feeling as fresh and naturally clean as this one.
In fact, I first bought the sample pack to try the toothpaste because I was skeptical and worried I would hate the taste. Then I ended up placing a special order outside of my LRP (which stands for Loyalty Rewards Program—it’s how I get free products) because I couldn’t wait to get my hands on a whole bottle. That’s how good it is.
In addition to the incredible taste, it is flouride-free and contains hydroxyapatite, a naturally occurring substance which helps remineralize and restore tooth enamel, and makes your teeth feel stronger, smoother, healthier, and less sensitive to hot or cold.
I never thought I’d ever be this excited over toothpaste, but truly this is truly one of my favorite products.
#3: OnGuard Mouthwash
After reading about my love for the OnGuard Toothpaste, this one can’t be much of a surprise.
To be honest, I’m not generally a big fan of mouthwash and I originally bought this for my husband as a way to wean him off the blue smurf juice-looking mouthwashes you get at the store.
But given how much I loved the toothpaste, I started using this myself and now I’m in love with it as well.
The OnGuard Mouthwash has a natural, alcohol-free base with all of the OnGuard goodies plus Miswak extract, which helps control the formation of plaque.
It’s fresh, it doesn’t burn, it tastes amazing, and I would 10/10 recommend.
Seriously, why aren’t more people talking about how great the OnGuard dental products are?!
#4: Thinker Touch Blend
While you often hear people talking about oils like Peppermint or Rosemary for helping promote focus, you don’t often hear people talking about how amazing the Thinker Blend is and I think I know why…
Thinker is actually part of doTERRA’s Kids line, a specialized line of oils with doses/dilution ratios that are more appropriate for sensitive little bodies.
However, just because this is technically part of the kids line it doesn’t mean it’s not an incredible product for adults as well.
Thinker features Vetiver, Peppermint, Clementine, and Rosemary and it has so many incredible uses.
Here’s what I love about it:
It is an extremely well-balanced oil that is fresh, minty, and a little earthy, but not at all overpowering
It works beautifully to promote focus
It’s great for headaches or head tension
It’s excellent on days where you’re feeling groggy and need a little pick-me-up
It’s great for nausea
It smells absolutely divine
And it comes pre-diluted so you can roll it right on your skin
I like putting Thinker on my temples, hairline, wrists, and under my nose. It’s my favorite oil on days where I’m really tired and need a gentle boost to help keep me alert and focused. My husband really likes it for tension headaches.
If you’re someone who is sensitive to some of the stronger-smelling blends and/or you have littles at home, this is a great one to have on hand.
This oil has me so excited to try the other oils in the Kids Collection, because it’s something I wouldn’t have thought to try as an adult. It’s also a great reminder of just how versatile doTERRA’s products are and that just because it’s geared towards children it doesn’t mean adults won’t also benefit.
#5: OnGuard Hand Soap

doTERRA has really outdone themselves with all things OnGuard. There are just so many incredible products in this line, including the foaming hand soap.
This was another product that I didn’t think I would like as much as I do, but now I’m thoroughly obsessed and there’s a particular reason why.
Many years ago I discovered that I was weirdly allergic reaction to pretty much all of the hand soaps on the market.
Rashes formed on my hands and wrists and my skin dried out to the point where they’d crack and bleed by the end of the day.
It took me a lot of trial and error to find a brand that kept my hands moisturized and rash free, and even though I did find a slightly more natural brand that I liked, its ingredients weren’t quite as clean as I would have hoped.
