Are doTERRA Supplements Worth It?

I’ve been a lover of all things health, wellness, and beauty since I was a child.

I don’t know where I got this passion from; no one else in my family was quite as obsessed with these topics as I was. I even remember researching health spas, recipes, and homemade beauty products back when dial-up internet was still a thing.

This love for health and wellness has only continued to grow over the years.

I’ve tried all the products, taken the courses, attended seminars, listened to the podcasts, read all the books.

But as I’ve gotten older, I’ve become increasingly particular about the products I use on my body and the supplements I put in it.

It’s no longer good enough to just hop on over to Whole Foods and trust any old product off the shelf; I prioritize ensuring that the products I use are high quality, thoroughly vetted, and as natural and organic as possible.

Now, I’ve loved doTERRA for many years, but I always thought of them first and foremost as an essential oil company.

High quality lavender or the best peppermint oil money can buy? Yeah of course, sign me up.

But supplements? Could their supplements really be that good, let alone world class?

Being a spiritual coach doesn’t mean I’m not discerning and that I just accept any natural remedy or product. I think it’s in part due to the many years I spent as a therapist and being firmly rooted in science and evidence-based practices that I have extremely high standards when it comes to product quality.

And when it comes to health products, it’s not enough for me to take anyone’s word for it; I need to experience it for myself.

So that’s what I did with doTERRA.

I was a big fan of doTERRA prior to the pandemic, but following a very bad case of the original virus in March of 2020 and losing my sense of taste and smell for a good two years, I fell off the bandwagon.

Flash forward to this time last year (Summer 2023), I was recovering from a year of tremendous stress and trauma and my body and nervous system were in a very rough place.

I consistently felt hot and inflamed, I was irritable and highly anxious, my brain fog was horrendous, I wasn’t sleeping well, had no energy, and I was in near constant fight-or-flight.

At that point, I went to see a group of integrative health care providers (including a women’s health expert and a psychiatrist), who really helped me turn my health around.

Knowing that I wanted to do everything humanly possible to stay off medication, my integrative psychiatrist immediately put me on a substantial supplement protocol as part of my healing regimen.

Thankfully, she and the rest of my team were completely supportive of an array of holistic remedies and recommended many of them.

This was when I decided to reorder some of the doTERRA essential oils that had been helpful to me many years prior and that’s when I was introduced to their supplements.

After hearing many other doTERRA lovers speak (almost ad nauseum, I’ll admit) about products like the MetaPWR Advantage Collagen, TerraZyme, and several of their other supplements, I decided to try them for myself to see if the hype was for real.

The result?

Across the board, I was floored.

Each of the supplements I share below made a noticeable difference and in a very short time, I fell in love with them.

So what exactly did I try and what did I notice?

MetaPWR Advantage: Blew every other collagen product I’d ever tried out of the water. My brain fog and energy levels were noticeably better the first day and significantly improved by the end of the first week. My metabolism was kickstarted and I lost a few pounds that first month doing nothing else differently.

It felt like my whole system got an upgrade and honestly makes me wonder why anyone would bother with store-bought collagen anymore. Every other collagen just feels inert compared to this one.

TerraZyme: A seriously incredible digestive enzyme blend that eliminates so much of my digestive discomfort and helps both my husband and I tolerate foods we used to have difficulty with.

Serenity Softgels: An amazing natural support for a deeper night’s sleep. I always have deeper, uninterrupted sleep when I take these.

OnGuard+ Softgels: Hello immune support and a household that stayed healthy throughout the Winter.

Zendocrine Detoxification Complex: Paired with the MetaPWR line it felt like it gave my body a complete yet very gentle detox and contributed to very gentle weight release.

MetaPWR Metabolic Assist: Okay, I’ll admit that I was particularly skeptical of this supplement. The MetaPWR Assist is designed to be taken prior to your largest, heaviest, or most carb-dense meal and helps support healthy blood glucose levels, reduces the absorption of carbohydrates and sugar, and contributes to healthy fat metabolism. I thought it sounded too good to be true.

Then a few months ago when I saw that the Glucose Goddess was coming out with an “Anti-Spike” formula with several of the same ingredients that doTERRA did YEARS ago, I realized just how much they’re at the cutting edge of supplements.

After almost a year of using these products consistently, my body feels entirely different:

  • I no longer feel hot, inflamed, and bloated all the time

  • My sleep is better and more consistent

  • My cognition feels clearer and my brain fog has improved significantly

  • I have higher energy levels

  • My digestion has improved

  • I can soothe anxiety and stress quickly

  • My immune system was so supported this past Winter (which felt amazing after having a horrific case of RSV the year before)

I have loved doTERRA oils for many years, but the quality of their supplements and their commitment to full-body wellness made me fall head-over-heels in love with this company.

The bottom line is this:

Health truly is wealth.

I’m talking mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual.

When one of these is off, the rest follow suit. And we never appreciate our good health more than when we don’t have it.

The older I get, the more I appreciate just how good it feels to feel good and for me, doTERRA’s products play a huge role in this.

Now, if you love the idea of investing in your health but you’re also thinking, “But what about the cost? Aren’t supplements expensive?” I’ll tell you that I had the same thoughts last year.

There was a point where I lamented to my integrative health practitioner that all of the supplements she wanted me taking were going to cost me a pretty penny every month.

Her response (and I’ll never forget it) was:

“You’re either going to pay for this on the back-end when your body is struggling even more, or you can pay for it now by taking preventative measures.”

No further questions, Your Honor.

Yes, supplements are an extra cost and yes, it sucks that they are typically out-of-pocket. But to the extent you’re able to proactively invest in your health, I believe it’s worth it.

(And if we’re all being honest, chances are there are things you’re currently spending money on that are not serving your health—just think about the cost of a weekly happy hour, eating out a few times a month, or other non-essential items that just add up).

I’ve chosen to partner with doTERRA as part of my spiritual business because their products help create the foundation for a healthy body, mind, and soul.

doTERRA supplements now make up the foundation of both my husband and my daily wellness rituals and they’re something I won’t even go a day without taking.

After seeing the difference they’ve made over the past year to my sleep, metabolism, digestion, nervous system regulation, energy levels, brain fog, and cognition, I can honestly think of no better investment.

So if you’re a fellow skeptic who needs to “See It to Believe It,” I invite you to give these amazing supplements a try and see for yourself what kind of difference the doTERRA quality makes.
